Raider Revolution!

Hey Raiders, the Raider Revolution is in full swing and is already a huge success for all of our students. Over 1000 Raiders are currently benefitting from study hall and tutoring on a daily basis! Students who have earned the academic option are enjoying a longer break to get started on homework or get extra help in any class that they choose. If you want to earn the academic option here's how to do so: Come to school everyday, on time and keep those grades up! Students who have more than three unexcused absences or tardies will be placed into study hall. Students who have two or more "Ds" or one or more "Fs" on their 6 week report will be assigned to academic intervention classes. This year's Juniors will also have to achieve the "at or above standard level" on all sections of this year's Common Core Testing in April 2016. We are looking forward to continued success with the Raider Revolution this year!

Wear Your Student ID starting Monday, 8/17/15

Attention all students...if you have earned "Academic Option" during the Raider Revolution time you must wear your ID starting on Monday, 8/17/15. Any student out during Raider Revolution time without your ID and correct sticker visible will be placed in study hall for that day.

New Start time for the 2015-16 School Year...7:58 a.m.

Attention all parents, our staff has voted to implement the Raider Revolution for the 2015-16 school year. The Raider Revolution will provide time for academic tutoring and advancement during the school day and provide students with the incentive of a long break for those who qualify with good grades, test scores and attendance. The one feature that I want to specifically call your attention to right away is that school will be starting at a later time next year. First period will start at 7:58 a.m. and zero period will start at 7:00 a.m. A copy of all Bell Schedules are attached to this message.

Meal Applications for 15-16 now available!

The 2015-16 meal applications are attached to this advertisement in both English and Spanish. Each family must complete a new application each year. Fill out the application and bring it with you to registration to avoid a long delay and avail yourself to many benefits here at Sonora such as the Sonora Supper program and reduced prices on AP and IB exams.

Sonora Earns Gold Ribbon School and Title I Academic Achievement Awards!

Sonora Earns Gold Ribbon School and Title I Academic Achievement Awards!

It is with a great deal of pleasure and pride that I would like to inform you that our school was selected by the California Department of Education as a Gold Ribbon School and a Title I Academic Achieving School for this school year. This is a tremendous honor for all of us as the award publicly acknowledges the great work all of you do here on a daily basis for our Sonora students. The Gold Ribbon Award has been awarded to recognize the iPaTh Program and the efforts we make to encourage and support the academic achievement of at-risk students here at Sonora. The Title I Academic Achievement Award has been awarded to recognize the success we achieve with students who are socio-economically disadvantaged.
