Congratulations! Hopefully by now you've narrowed down your college choices and are ready to complete the application process. Check with the colleges you will be applying to for deadlines and application details. When getting ready to apply organization is key. Keep all of your application documents in a safe and accessible place. Know your deadlines and application process. It may help to keep a record of colleges, deadlines, requested letters of recommendation, and any other information that may help you keep track of your applications. Useful links Teacher and Counselor Recommendations Make sure to plan ahead when applying and give teachers and counselors ample time to complete secondary school reports. It is your responsibility to request the necessary letters. Your counselor will not distribute requests or collect them on your behalf. Pick up a Recommendation Request Form in the Counseling office if you need a letter or form completed for your application. Please give teachers and counselors at least two weeks to complete your request. Always include an SASE (self-addressed stamped envelope) for each letter. The return address should be to the Teacher or Counselor and the Sonora High School address ( 401 South Palm Street, La Habra, CA, 90631), and all envelopes should be stamped. Include any official forms -- be certain to fill out all necessary blanks. If you are using a common application, fill one out neatly and indicate how many copies will be needed once the teacher/counselor has filled it out. Applying to California Schools- The UC's and the CSU's  This application allows you to apply to multiple UC campuses using the same application.  CSU Mentor allows you to apply to multiple CSU campuses using the same application. Applying to Private and Out of State Schools Check with the college or university for their application process requirement and details. Many private and out of state schools use the services of Common Application to aid in the acceptance process. Click here to see participating institutions. |
