The Academy of Nursing and Medical Careers is dedicated to preparing students for immediate success in the healthcare field, culminating in the achievement of Medical Assisting certification upon graduation.

Our Goals

  1. Certification Excellence: Achieve a 95% or higher passing rate on the Medical Assisting certification exam for all graduating seniors.
  2. Clinical Competence: Ensure all students complete a minimum of 120 hours of supervised clinical experience, demonstrating proficiency in core medical assisting skills and adhering to professional standards.
  3. Post-Secondary Success: See 100% of academy graduates either pursue a higher education degree in a medical or allied health field or secure entry-level employment in a healthcare setting within six months of graduation.
  4. Ethical Practice & Community Impact: Implement and require participation in a yearly community health outreach initiative to instill the core values of compassion and integrity in providing patient care.

He has been with Sonora High School since his high school days in the early 90’s.  He started coaching in 1994 and began his teaching career in 1999.  He has been the coordinator of the Academy of Nursing and Medical Careers for 14 years and loves working to ensure the success of every academy student. 

Mr. Witt is passionate about his students and their future careers as healthcare professionals.  His hope is that every student that walks into his classroom and the academy as a whole feels loved, supported and empowered to chase their dreams in the medical field.
